Butterflies

I recently painted these butterfiles on 6x6x1 pieces of wood.  I just love the bright colors!  I also love that these can be mounted together or they can stand alone, either mounted or free standing.  These feel very spring to me.  Contact me directly for purchase info.

Clay Flowers

My new favorite medium is air dry molding clay.  Below are some flowers that I am working on.  They are mounted on 6x6x1 wood blocks.  I have had to reset these a few times - now I know to tack them down are I go!  Not sure if I want to do these in color, right now most are painted white.

Watercolor

Watercolor painting is not an easy technique but it is so fun! I am working up to posting a picture of my watercolor Colorado mountain sunset...but this will have to do for now.

Evelyn Verhey

One of my favorite people on the earth passed away earlier this year.  Evelyn Verhey was my beautiful and talented aunt.  She has inspired me in so many ways - from her super cool art studio in the hills of Kentucky to all of her artwork where she used so many different textures and tons of color.  She has inspired me to start painting during this Covid pandemic.  I am starting with watercolors but think I will venture into acrylics soon.

Colorado

Now that we have relocated to Colorado I have rediscovered my first love...photography. Waterton Canyon is one of my favorite places to spend time.  The landscape is amazing and on a good day you may get lucky and see the big horned sheep.  Below are a few shots of these amazing animals.

Chicago

My love of photography goes back to my days of living on the northside of Chicago - I loved the cityscape and capturing unique moments of daily life.  I love the old architecture as well.  One of my all time favorite pictures of my boys is this black and white image of them hanging out under the el waiting for the train to go by.   I miss those days in the city - there is nothing like a summer in Chicago...but I certainly don't miss the winters!
